Digital Construction Week Opens at ExCeL London Tomorrow

Digital Construction Week will open its doors at ExCeL London tomorrow, bringing together construction, design, engineering and technology professionals for two days focused on the future of the built environment.

The 2026 event takes place on 3 and 4 June and is expected to draw attention from across the architecture, engineering, construction and operations sector. The show will focus on the practical use of digital tools including BIM, artificial intelligence, robotics, data-led project delivery and technology for more sustainable construction.

Doors open at 9:30am on Wednesday, with visitors advised to print their badge before travelling and bring it with them on arrival. Attendees are also being encouraged to download the official Digital Construction Week app to access the floorplan, browse the programme and build a personalised agenda.

For London’s construction sector, the timing of the event is important. Digital delivery is no longer a side discussion for major projects. BIM coordination, compliance evidence, real-time design review, asset data and digital reporting are becoming part of how clients, consultants and contractors manage risk, cost and programme pressure.

The event comes at a point where construction businesses are under increasing pressure to prove not only what they are building, but how decisions are being recorded, checked and handed over. That makes digital construction tools more closely connected to delivery assurance, regulatory evidence and the long-term management of buildings.

Visitors travelling to ExCeL London on Wednesday 3 June are expected to see normal transport services. However, those attending on Thursday 4 June have been advised to plan journeys carefully because of planned London Underground industrial action on some lines. ExCeL is served by the Elizabeth line at Custom House and by the DLR at Prince Regent and Custom House.

London Construction Magazine is supporting Digital Construction Week as a media partner and will be following the themes emerging from the show, particularly around BIM, project controls, construction data, digital assurance and the use of technology to reduce delivery risk across the built environment.

The event is expected to provide a clear view of how digital construction is moving from innovation language into day-to-day project delivery. For contractors, consultants, software providers, asset owners and construction professionals, the question is no longer whether digital tools matter, but how quickly they can be adopted in a way that improves real project outcomes.
