Visitors travelling to The O2 from Friday 2 to Sunday 4 October 2026 face major Jubilee line engineering works that cut the normal direct route from central London to North Greenwich for substantial parts of the weekend. The disruption coincides with Niall Horan playing The O2 arena on Friday and Saturday, followed by Karan Aujla on Sunday. The simplest alternative for many passengers from central, west and north London will be the Elizabeth line to Canary Wharf, followed by the remaining eastern section of the Jubilee line to North Greenwich.

Exactly Which Jubilee Line Sections Are Closed?
TfL's published track-closure programme, correct at 25 September, lists three separate Jubilee line restrictions rather than one continuous weekend closure. During Friday Night Tube, trains will not run between Finchley Road and Stratford. On Saturday and Sunday during daytime hours, the closure changes to Green Park–Canary Wharf. During Saturday Night Tube it expands again, with no service between Green Park and Stratford.
That distinction matters. North Greenwich sits east of Canary Wharf, so the Jubilee line section between Canary Wharf, North Greenwich, Canning Town, West Ham and Stratford can still provide the final part of many journeys during the Saturday and Sunday daytime closure. What passengers cannot do is travel straight through central London on the Jubilee line from stations such as Green Park, Westminster, Waterloo or London Bridge. London Construction Magazine identified the same problem of overlapping engineering works in its previous London weekend transport guide: checking only the line nearest an event is not enough when connecting routes are also affected.
Best Alternative Routes to The O2
For most journeys from central and west London on Saturday and Sunday, the useful principle is simple: reach the Elizabeth line, travel to Canary Wharf, then change for the Jubilee line to North Greenwich.

Passengers using the Elizabeth line as the diversion should note one additional restriction: TfL says Acton Main Line, Hanwell and West Ealing will not be served after 23:00 on Saturday and until 09:00 on Sunday. That does not close the central Elizabeth line through Bond Street, Tottenham Court Road, Liverpool Street and Canary Wharf, but it matters for passengers travelling farther west.
Do Not Use Canada Water as the Obvious Workaround
Canada Water looks like an obvious interchange on the Tube map, but it is a poor choice this weekend. TfL says Windrush line trains will not stop at Canada Water on Saturday 3 or Sunday 4 October, including during Friday and Saturday Night Overground services.
There is also an existing accessibility restriction. TfL's station works information says there is no step-free access between street level and the Canada Water ticket hall until spring 2027, although interchange between the Jubilee and Windrush line platforms remains possible when both services are operating.
On Sunday there is a further complication on the DLR, with no service between Tower Gateway and Shadwell. Passengers coming from south-east London can still consider DLR connections elsewhere in the network, but Tower Gateway should not be treated as a Sunday route into or out of The O2.
Niall Horan and Karan Aujla Bring Three Arena Nights
The disruption coincides with three consecutive arena events. The O2 confirms Niall Horan for Friday 2 and Saturday 3 October, with doors at 18:30 on both nights. Karan Aujla follows on Sunday 4 October, with The O2 currently listing doors at 18:00.
Saturday also has The Phantoms at indigo at The O2 from 18:30. The venue can therefore have more than one audience arriving or leaving through the North Greenwich transport area while the normal central Jubilee connection is unavailable.
LCM previously examined North Greenwich travel arrangements in its Laver Cup London 2026 guide. The important difference this weekend is that the Jubilee line itself, rather than only its feeder routes, is subject to major planned closures.
How to Get Home From The O2 After the Show
The most important late-night point is that visitors should not assume the Jubilee Night Tube will take over once normal services finish. During Friday Night Tube there is no Jubilee service between Finchley Road and Stratford, which includes North Greenwich. During Saturday Night Tube the closure runs from Green Park all the way to Stratford. North Greenwich therefore has no Jubilee Night Tube service during either planned possession.
TfL's normal North Greenwich station information currently displays standard last departures of 00:19 towards Stanmore and 01:01 towards Stratford. Those are not confirmed amended last-train times for the 2–4 October engineering weekend. LCM is therefore not treating them as guaranteed final trains for these event nights. Passengers should check TfL Journey Planner and the live departure boards on the day, particularly before relying on a late connection at Canary Wharf. The Elizabeth line is also not a Night Tube service, so changing at Canary Wharf is a strong daytime and evening strategy but not an unlimited overnight alternative.
Post-Show Boats Run After All Three O2 Concerts
There is one unusually useful alternative this weekend. Uber Boat by Thames Clippers has confirmed Post-Show Express services for Niall Horan on 2 and 3 October and Karan Aujla on 4 October.
The Express leaves North Greenwich Pier 20 minutes after the show finishes and calls at London Bridge City, London Eye at Waterloo and Battersea Power Station. Thames Clippers says advance booking guarantees a seat. North Greenwich Pier is around a five-minute walk from The O2, although the operator warns that spectators seated in blocks 400 and above may need longer than 20 minutes to reach the pier after the show. That makes the river service particularly useful for people returning towards London Bridge, Waterloo or south-west London without depending on the closed central Jubilee section.
Buses, Driving and North Greenwich Access
North Greenwich also has a substantial bus interchange. TfL lists routes including 108, 129, 132, 161, 180, 188, 335, 422, 486, N472 and SL11 at the station. Route 108 is particularly useful as an overnight fallback because TfL's published timetable shows services throughout the night between Lewisham, North Greenwich and Stratford International.
The O2 itself advises visitors to consider alternatives to driving on event days. Its current transport guidance says up to 2,000 cars can attempt to leave at the same time after an event, alongside buses, taxis and private-hire vehicles using limited road access around the Greenwich Peninsula.
Event parking is in Car Park 1 and should be pre-booked. North Greenwich station is step-free to its platforms, while The O2 also provides accessible parking and drop-off arrangements. Anyone requiring step-free interchanges elsewhere on the journey should check live lift status before travelling because lift availability can change independently of the planned line closures.
The Simple Route to Remember
For Saturday and Sunday daytime travel from much of central, west or north London, the most useful route is: Elizabeth line to Canary Wharf → Jubilee line to North Greenwich. From Stratford and east London, the open eastern Jubilee section can still take passengers directly to North Greenwich while that section is operating.
For the journey home, passengers should plan before entering the arena rather than discovering the Night Tube closure after the show. The post-show boat provides a confirmed alternative on all three arena nights, while buses remain available from North Greenwich after the rail network begins to wind down. TfL's closure programme is current as of 25 September 2026 and can still be amended before the possession begins.
