What’s On in London This Weekend: 16–18 October 2026

London has a packed programme from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 October 2026, with the NFL returning to Wembley Stadium, heavyweight boxing and K-pop at The O2, Frieze in Regent’s Park, the closing weekend of the BFI London Film Festival, Musical Con at ExCeL and the opening weekend of Halloween at Kew.

There is also a significant transport complication. Planned engineering works affect several rail and Underground routes across the capital, including Heathrow access on the Piccadilly line, Southern and Gatwick Express services at London Victoria and rail journeys through west London. London Construction Magazine has checked the main event dates and current travel position against organiser, venue and transport information so visitors can plan the full weekend rather than treating each event in isolation.

Friday 16 October: K-pop, Kew, Frieze and Alexandra Palace

Friday starts strongly at The O2, where LE SSERAFIM bring the PUREFLOW tour to London. The arena lists doors at 18:00 and tickets remain directed through official partner AXS. North Greenwich on the Jubilee line is the main public transport station. Drivers can also check LCM's current guide to parking, car parks and road charges at The O2 before travelling. Friday is also opening night for Halloween at Kew. The illuminated 1.5km trail runs from 16 October to 1 November, with Kew Gardens open for the Halloween event from 18:00 to 22:00 during its opening weekend. Last entry is strictly 20:30. Kew divides the experience into Daylight, Twilight and Moonlight sessions, with the scare level increasing as the evening gets darker.

At Alexandra Palace, three events share the Great Hall throughout the weekend. OM Yoga Show, Vegan Life Live and Mind Body Soul Experience run from Friday to Sunday, and a ticket for one of the three shows also provides access to the other two. Alexandra Palace lists opening hours of 11:00–18:00 on Friday, 10:00–18:00 on Saturday and 10:00–17:00 on Sunday. Children under 16 can enter free when accompanied by a paying adult, and a free shuttle bus is planned from Wood Green Underground and Alexandra Palace rail stations. Frieze London and Frieze Masters are already under way by Friday and continue through Sunday in The Regent's Park. Both fairs open from 11:00 to 19:00 on Friday and Saturday and 11:00 to 18:00 on Sunday. Tickets are date and time specific and are sold online.

Saturday 17 October: boxing, Musical Con and the London Snow Show

Saturday's largest evening event is the heavyweight rematch between Daniel Dubois and Fabio Wardley. The O2 confirms Dubois vs Wardley 2 for Saturday 17 October, with arena doors opening at 16:00. Tickets remain on sale through the venue's official partner AXS.  East London will also be busy at ExCeL. Musical Con returns to ExCeL London on 17 and 18 October, bringing together West End performers, shows, panels, meet-and-greets, cosplay, performances and theatre merchandise. The venue advises visitors to use Custom House for the Elizabeth line and DLR. ExCeL is also warning that Sandstone Lane and Seagull Lane across its campus are closed, with vehicle access to the venue car park via Royal Victoria Dock Road or the A112.

At Olympia London, the London Snow Show returns for its 50th edition. The National Hall event runs from 10:00 to 18:00 on Saturday and 10:00 to 16:00 on Sunday, bringing ski resorts, equipment brands, winter-sports specialists, talks, a fashion show and family activities together under one roof. Football also adds to west London crowds on Saturday. Brentford host Liverpool at the Gtech Community Stadium, adding another major visitor flow to a weekend already affected by engineering works across several west London rail routes.

Sunday 18 October: NFL Wembley and the BFI closing night

The biggest single stadium event on Sunday is at Wembley. Houston Texans face the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium with a confirmed 14:30 kick-off. Wembley Park on the Jubilee and Metropolitan lines is the principal Underground station for the stadium, and visitors should allow additional time because Sunday coincides with substantial engineering work elsewhere on the London and National Rail networks.

The 70th BFI London Film Festival also reaches its final day on Sunday. The 2026 festival has run from 7 to 18 October across BFI Southbank, Royal Festival Hall, BFI IMAX and West End partner cinemas. The Closing Night Gala is the UK premiere of Jesse Eisenberg's The Debut at the Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall. Sunday is also the final day of Frieze London and Frieze Masters, Musical Con and the London Snow Show, while Halloween at Kew continues beyond this weekend until 1 November.

What can you do for free in London this weekend?

The clearest completely free major attraction in this guide is Frieze Sculpture. The outdoor exhibition is installed in the English Gardens in The Regent's Park and runs until 1 November. It is separate from the ticketed Frieze London and Frieze Masters pavilions, so visitors do not need a fair ticket simply to walk the sculpture trail.

The BFI London Film Festival also has an official LFF for Free programme at BFI Southbank, including talks, workshops, short-film events, DJ nights and family activities. The BFI describes the programme as completely free, although some individual events require advance booking and entry can remain subject to capacity.

Major London travel disruption on 17–18 October

Visitors should not assume their normal weekend route is operating. TfL's planned engineering programme includes no Piccadilly line service between Hammersmith and Heathrow or Uxbridge on Saturday and Sunday, while the District line is also affected between Turnham Green and Ealing Broadway. Anyone travelling to or from Heathrow should check the Elizabeth line and other alternatives before leaving. National Rail changes are substantial as well. Southern's published engineering programme says Gatwick Express and Southern services from London Victoria will be reduced on Saturday, while no Gatwick Express or Southern trains will run to or from London Victoria on Sunday. Services that normally use Victoria will in many cases be diverted towards London Bridge.

There will also be no Southern trains between Clapham Junction and Watford Junction on either Saturday or Sunday. That is particularly relevant for visitors heading towards Olympia and west London, where normal rail connections should not be assumed. ExCeL visitors on Sunday should also check DLR service changes before travelling, although the Elizabeth line to Custom House provides another direct route to the venue. With major events spread from Wembley to Greenwich, Regent's Park, Kew, Olympia, Alexandra Palace, ExCeL and the South Bank, the safest approach is to choose the event first and then check the complete outward and return journey rather than relying on the route normally used during the week. Ticket availability can also change before the weekend, so paid events should be booked through the venue or organiser's official sales channel rather than assuming walk-up admission will be available.
