Manchester Airports Group MAG's Masterstroke: Stansted £1.1bn Expansion Unveiled
Manchester Airports Group (MAG), the UK's leading aviation powerhouse, has once again demonstrated its commitment to excellence with a groundbreaking £1.1bn investment at London Stansted Airport. This significant expansion is set to transform the passenger experience, boost connectivity, and drive economic growth in the region.
MAG, renowned for its innovative approach to airport management, has unveiled a comprehensive five-year plan that will deliver wide-ranging benefits to travelers and secure Stansted's position as a major gateway to the UK. The centerpiece of this investment is a substantial £600m terminal extension, creating a more spacious and welcoming environment with expanded facilities.
The terminal development will enable Stansted to serve up to 43 million passengers annually, generating up to 5,000 new on-site jobs and doubling the airport's economic contribution to £2 billion per year. This investment aligns perfectly with MAG's vision of driving sustainable growth and enhancing the UK's aviation infrastructure.
In addition to the terminal expansion, MAG's £1.1bn investment includes a range of initiatives to improve the passenger journey and support Stansted's commitment to sustainability. These projects include an enlarged security hall, a 14.3MW solar farm, new seating areas, wayfinding kiosks, and upgrades to the airfield taxiway.
