London’s First Wave Pool Approved for Lee Valley Park
London is about to ride the wave, literally. Plans have been approved to build the capital’s first wave pool in North London’s Lee Valley Park, a project that promises to bring surfing, play and wellness to the city’s doorstep. Construction is set to begin in 2026, with doors opening to the public in 2027.
The 54-acre surf zone, led by Crest Experiences, will feature cutting-edge Endless Surf technology, offering longer rides and greater capacity than any similar facility in Europe. Beyond surfing, the development will include green spaces, skate areas, playparks and health and wellbeing facilities, making it a destination for families, fitness enthusiasts and thrill-seekers alike.
Crest CEO Hazel Geary says the project will create up to 200 jobs and provide local residents with discounts, plus free spectator viewing areas. We want this to be a place where the community can come together and enjoy active recreation, Geary added.
With London set to welcome its first urban surf park, this project could transform leisure in the capital, making waves in more ways than one.
