VINCI Construction Expands Latin America Ground Technologies Business

VINCI Construction is expanding its ground technologies business in Latin America through the planned acquisition of Grupo TDM’s geosynthetics division in Peru.

Geoquest, a VINCI Construction subsidiary, has signed an agreement to acquire the division, which operates across Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Mexico. The transaction remains subject to approval by the relevant authorities and is expected to complete by the end of 2026.

Grupo TDM’s geosynthetics division employs around 220 people and generated approximately US$80 million in revenue in 2025. The business has more than 30 years of experience designing and supplying waterproofing, soil stabilisation, soil drainage and erosion protection solutions for infrastructure projects across Latin America.

Its industrial operations include plants in Peru and Brazil, where it produces waterproofing geomembranes and geocells, also known as cellular confinement systems. These products are widely used in civil engineering, infrastructure and mining applications where ground performance, containment and erosion control are critical.

VINCI Construction said the acquisition would strengthen Geoquest’s presence in Latin America and broaden its technical offer in specialist ground technologies. The integration of TDM’s industrial capacity and regional expertise is expected to support further growth, particularly in the mining sector, which remains one of the most active markets for geotechnical and ground engineering solutions in the region.

Geoquest is known for the Reinforced Earth® technique and specialises in the design and supply of geotechnical engineering structures and reinforced backfill systems. The acquisition would add further depth to its portfolio at a time when infrastructure, mining and environmental containment projects continue to drive demand for advanced ground engineering solutions across Latin America.
